What's the matter with a close union? Together, Salt Lake and Los Angeles can levy tribute on the world. You are here and don't want to get away: but If .any one of you should ever desire to leave Salt I.ake. you can go out In, any one of six different directions, di-rections, pr if you will wait a little while we will send you to San Francisco Fran-cisco on the Western Pacific or to Denver Den-ver on the Moffat road With 2000 miles of railway already, and the other two big lines coming, our problem of transportation Is solved. It Will delight you people, and be a novelty at the same time, to see honcsc and efficient railway competition. It's a good place to be where there are many railroads. If you want anything any-thing that somebody else In the world has got, or If somebody else In the world wants what you have got. the exchange can be made without giving up your goods and a mortgage on your house and lot to make the trade. But there Is one thing we almost forgot for-got to mention. Climate. Have you people of Los Angeles ever heard of climate? We've got one here. Its the best all-round, all-round, every-day, aoul-lnsplring, ener-gy-maklng, health-giving, and altogether alto-gether lovely cllmato In the whole wide world. We could take It and. do busi-n busi-n -s with It if We didn't have another flarped thing. It doesn't nail Itself to the thermometer at about SO degrees and stay there all the year 'round. Ilk e yours does. It wabbles around a little Just enough to keep you feeling good. Hot (but not too hot) In the summer; cold (but not too cold) In the winter; middling but not too middling) In spring and autumn. You can skate a little In December and January on Ice. and you can skate a little In July and August with Ice In It Not that you care for either, but they're here. None of the diseases that do business elsewhere seem to have any show hero. We don't have any consumption or typhoid ty-phoid or any of those things. And It's all due to the climate Some time we are going to take this climate and make It a reason for a great city; and when we do. you are going to send us a lot of people. Well.
