Tho dancing peoplo aro engerly looking forward to next week, as two largo dances aro already planned, ono at tho University club and the other by the High School alumni, both of which proml30 to bo very bright ovents. Mrs. Jack Keith was tho hostCBs yesterday yes-terday at a most cnjoyablo and claborato violot luncheon given at tho University club in honor of Mrs. C. D. Clark, wlfo of the Senator from Wyoming, ana Mrs. Tom Blyth, both being guests In tho city. Tho dining table was resplendent In violets, vio-lets, and at each of tho places for tho sixteen guests was a bunch of this dainty flower. Long violet ribbons were grnco-fully grnco-fully stretched across the snowy cloth, and the violot Idea was otherwise carried car-ried out to make the effect porfect. Following Fol-lowing tho luncheon tho guests repaired lo tho drawing room upstairs, whero a social half-hour wne enjoyed Tho patronesses for tho High School Alumni association ball next Friday night at Unity hall will bo Mrs. Hoyt Sherman, Mrs. It. S. Miller. Mrs. O. J. Salisbury, Mra. R. G. Schulder and Mrs. A. J. Vorse. It promises to bo a very- pleasant reunion. Quito a largo number enjoyed tho evo-nlng evo-nlng with Tennyson given by Miss Grace Bello Davis In tho Third Presbyterian church last evening. Roger Sherman will be homo from Yolo for Christmas. A merry gathering of old friends took place hist evening at tho hospitable home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph B. Cainc. It was their wedding anniversary, and tho evening eve-ning was delightfully passed by tho few old frlonds who had gathered to wish them many more such anniversaries. Tho usual good attondanco will bo aeon at tho Country club today. Mrs. Hcbcr Lee and Mrs. Ingalls entertained enter-tained at an informal luncheon youtcrday in honor of Mrs. Evans of Baltimore, which was gr.eatly enjoyed by a few friends. Dr. and Mrs. S. H. Plnkcrton havo returned re-turned from a sIx-wccIcd' Eastern trip and aro at tho Kenyon. They wore accompanied ac-companied home by Mra. Von Knobloch, who has spent the past six months visiting visit-ing relatives in Philadelphia. o Miss Helma Lundberg and Dr. C. F.
