Show SOMEBODY STOLE COPPER. Police Officers Now Think Thomas Brown Is the Thief, As a sequel to the arrest of Lewis Miller, two days ago on the charge of receiving stolen property, Tom Brown went to tho city Jail at the hour when the rest of Salt Lake's population were, mo9t of them, sitting down to their Thanksgiving turkey. Brown Is accused of stealing about $100 worth of copper from the Federal building. Patrolmen Taylor and Selger made the arrest. They have been working on the case for some time back. The copper cop-per was taken more than two weeks ago, and for days no trace of Its thief or destination developed. The officers watched the Junk shops and phadowed suspicious characters. Brown came under un-der their surveillance and they kept on his trail until they were satisfied he had taken the metal and sold It to Lewis. The arrest of the latter Individual followed. fol-lowed. Since that other evidence came into the hands of Taylor and Selger strong enough, they believe, to convict Brown of grand larceny. His arrest followed fol-lowed yesterday afternoon. |
