Show jM SOCIETY Society passed a busy day. Early In the morning the golf enthusiasts gathered at tho Country club to witness tho game between mixed foursomes and this was followed by an elaborate buffet luncheon which ended In Umo for many to go to tho football game between Utah and Colorado. Col-orado. The football grounds wcro filled with brightly gowned women and all manner of equipages were to be seen laden with bright young girls waving tho colors of their favorites All over tho city elaborate dinners were given, practically prac-tically all the leading homes seeing what under ordlnorv conditions would bo a dinner din-ner party. The clubs for men wcro well patronised throughout tho afternoon and evening and tho menus prepared for tho luckless bachelors, barring thoso professional profes-sional diners out, were of tho daintiest description, uch that even tho grouch-Icst grouch-Icst members could not complain. The hotels presented their guests with elaborate elab-orate bills of fare and the tables usually reserved for different families saw one or two additional guests. It was an Ideal holiday and tho utmost cordiality and good cheer pervaded the homes of Salt Lake's fashionable throng Tho "University club will give the younger portion of society quite a treat next Tdesday when an informal danco will be given. Harold Slcgcl is chairman chair-man of the houso committee now and Is proving a great success. The music will bo furnished by Christensen and as the decorations will be something very protty the event will be quite a notablo ono for the dancing people. . Mr. and Mrs. R. II. Channlng Introduced Intro-duced a novolty In tho way of a progressive pro-gressive Thanksgiving dinner for sixteen, which was quite tho most successful event of tho day. Tho dining-room wns entirely In yellow and tho library In red, each being artistically arranged. Tables for two wore placed about tho rooms and the guests moved following each fcaturo nf tho menu.
