Show ESCAPE REFORM SCHOOL Diehl Did Not Agree With Father and Turned Children Over to Grandmother Charles Fenstermakor a farmer living liv-ing In Tooele county made what was termed by the ofllcers an attempt lo have his two young sons sent to the reform school yesterday In order that he would not have to care for them He had caused the arrest of the boys on a charge of Incorrlgiblllty but when the to little fellows were brought Into court yesterday afternoon their appearance ap-pearance and actions were anything but that of Incorrigibles Tlie evidence showed that the lads were not worthy candidates for the reform school and accordingly they were released with the undcnslandlng that their errand mother Mrs Caroline Fenslermaker of Union would take them In charge and care for them The hoys are Ray and Dayton Fcnstcrmakcr aged 11 and 13 years respectively When thej were brought Into court yesterday by a deputy sheriff both were exlrnnely tearful and apparently did not relish the Intention of their father to have them sent to the refonn school The father whose physical proportions propor-tions arc not of a man who would permit per-mit himself to be terrnrinod by a couple of small boys was the first to testify against them He said they had on divers occasions ran away from home to visit their grandmother apparently preferring her home totheir own This preference on their part he said has developed since the death of their mother The aged grandmother testified that the boys are fairly well behaved and manly She said she was barely able to support them However she consented to do everything in her power lo give Ihcin a good home Judge Diehl held that there was nothing noth-ing lo show they were really bad boys and accordingly turned them over to the grandmother |
