Show SELECTING LANDS Idaho Officials Have Conference With Secretary Hitchcock on the Subject TRIBUNE SPECIAL Washington Nov OGOY Morrison ot tldalio at a conference with Secretary Secre-tary Hitchcock today urged the reversal re-versal of the late Land office decision denying the State of Idaho the right to make further selections under thC th-C tre act until the State law in conflict con-flict with the Carey act has been repealed re-pealed The Carey act stipulates that not over ICO acres shall be taken by any one individual the State law provides pro-vides that whenever lands reclaimed under the Carey act arc not taken up with two years after completion of the system the State may dispose of such surplus to contractors on Its own terms Gov Morrison pledges the good faith of the State to abide by the national law and says that under any selections hereafter made only the Carey act shall be observed lie also promises to endeavor en-deavor to secure the repeal of the Slate law He Is anxious that the pending State selections shall be approved Secretary Hitchcock said he would go into the Jiuebtlon carefully before deciding de-ciding and would prefer to confer with Land Commissioner Richards before acting |
