Show BOY LOSoiS AN ARM Member Crushed So Badly That Amputation Am-putation Was Necessary A lad named Byron Moyes was badly injured at the Ogden Sewer Pipe and Clay work Friday night The boy had been employed In tending the hopper hop-per which feeds the press on the third floor of tho building The hopper became be-came clogged and the boy attempted to dislodge the obstruction with his hand when the signal bell which calls for the lowering of the plunger was sounded Tho machinery descended rapidly and caught the boys arm crushing It completely off at the elbow There was no one near at the time and the joy pulld the shattered stump from the hopper and walking down three flights of stairs went into the office of Manager Eastman The lvt > ttr immediately summoned Dr llnnlj the company physician and the l ioy was removed to his residence 3211 Wail I avenue The arm was amputatod about two Inches above the elLuxv The boy is now very weak from thi ffJCt3 of the accident and it is I doubtful if h2 will recover |
