Show MADE A NEAT HAUL Daring Burglars Loot Store in Bingham TOOK JEWELRY ONLY Broke Through Front Door In Plain View of Crowd Stolen Goods Worth Thousands of Dollars Two Rings Alone Valued at 620 1620 TRIBUNE SPECIAl I Bingham Sept Burglars 1 entered the store of the Booth Mercantile company com-pany > here last night arid cot away with a I neat little haul of Jewelry valued val-ued Into the thousands of dollars The burglars gained entrance to the build lag by removing a panel from the front I door and then turning the key of the lock on the Inside Two larse showcases show-cases filled with jewelry were ransacked ran-sacked but the safe Oi cashregister vcre or In no way disturbed IN VIEW OF A CROWD The robbery Is supposed to have occurred oc-curred about 1 oclock at night although al-though the discovery was not made until 7 oclock this morning when It was found that the front door was ajar Although the work appears to be that of novices they had the requisite requi-site nerve to accomplish their plans under most favorable circumstances The looted store Is only about seventy Ive feet from the alrcomnressor of the Highland Boy mine where a force of men Is employed all night An electric elec-tric light burns in front of the store and the door by which the entrance was made Is In full view of the men working so close by There was also a young man sleeping in a room on the second floor of the store building THE SHERIFF AT WORK The town Is crowded with an undesirable unde-sirable class of characters and it Is confidently believed that the act was thc work of one or two of the members mem-bers of this constantly shifting class Sheriff Emery at Salt lake was notified of the burglary early this morning morn-ing and at once detailed the resident deputies Forbes and Williams on the case The Sheriff also notified the officers of-ficers In the surrounding cities and towns to be upon the lookout for the jewelry a good account of which was qbtnlned by the two deputies The saloon of Jerome Bourtrarcl was also entered the same nlirhl In the same manner but n nothing was found missing this morning it Is thought that the men were frightened away before they had time to loot the place Among the articles stolen from the Booth Bros store were two diamond rings valued at St320 A complete list of the jewelry stolen Is as follows LIST OF STOLEN GOODS Seven tyilve pails sleeve buttons twenty scarfplns set with all kinds of sets twentyfour Initial pins two dozen lace pins two dozen crochet hooks Iron throe dozen shirtstuds one dozen I beltbuckles Imitation gold one dozen waist sets made like safetypins three doxen fraternal order pins Masons Odd Follows K of P K O T M Ted men and A O U W two dozen watchguards two diamond rings plain gold value 020 four dozen I watchchains and lockets one dozen vatehfobs twentylive rollphi ted chains one dozen silk braid chains one gold penholder six pals solid gold sleeve buttons six gold lace pins |
