Show REVISING ITS CREED Wide Diversity of Presbyterian Committee Com-mittee on Subject of Revision I Washington Dec IThe wide diversity of leaders of tho Presbyterian church on the subject of revision of the creed was demonstrated when tho committee of twenty appointed by the general assembly assem-bly to effect this work and submit It to tho next assembly began Its labors here today It was found that none of tho members of any subcommittee had united upon any report or statement The com mlttco held several meetings during tho day all procccdlngs being In executive execu-tive session The full commute began the work oC framing the brief statement of a doctrine this afternoon Tho present long creed I of tho church will bo considered article by article Tho new statement will now comprise about 1000 words The committees commit-tees views are that tho statement should I be composed of about twenty paragraphs and when the session had concluded for the day only one of these paragraphs had been agreed upon It was said tonight that after the conclusion con-clusion of the work of the committee at Washington statements agreed upon would be printed and would be again con i sldcrcd by the committee nt a meeting to be held some time In tho spring before be-fore lie i gathering the general assembly I assem-bly thus giving tho members of the revision re-vision committee opportunity to again pass upon their work before It shall bo I submitted to the governing body of the I church The members of the committee will call on President Roosevelt tomorrow I |
