Show MOTHER CORBY DEAD Bedfast for Months but Unable to Lie Down The long life of Mother Mary Corby who has been an Inmate of the county Infirmary since January 22 Thursday morn 1900 came to an end ing at S oclock She died from spasmodic spas-modic asthma with which she had suffered for years Although bedfast she was not able lo lie down and for lmer death she many inonihs prior to thcr constantly occupied a sitting posture Mother Corby was born In London England nearly SG years ago She he came a seamsliess und after her arrival ar-rival In this country made her home with the Eardley family for twelve years A year ago she became so helpless help-less that Mrs Eardley was unable lo care for her and secured her admission lo the infirmary The old ladys mind remained clear to the last and her memory was excellent She never faltered fal-tered In her loyally to dear old London Lon-don and constantly declared that If she were In London she would Immediately recover from thc I asthma and become able lo work again When at last the time came for her Journey to a far country farther far-ther and It is to be hoped fairer than London she closed her eyes as peacefully peace-fully as a child and passed away with j hardly a sigh Mother Corby Is be I llcvcd to havo a son somewhere In I Canada whom she had not heard from for a very long time and no other relative She will be given respectable respecta-ble burial at thc expense of the Eardleys |
