Show IrfflallerV 1K1frK wr 4 4tL I 1 Clarence E Allen knows something about mining himself Mr Allen like many others came to Salt Lake for hishealth many years ago He found his health all right and also found so many other good things that he concluded con-cluded to stay which he did Mr Allen Al-len when he first came here was a school teacher and Imparted many healthful Ideas to the young for a time Later he was County Clerk and did pretty well at that Still later he was a member of Congress for Utah and did better yet Turning his attention to mines Mr Allen soon became known all over the world as a judge of good things ITe Is at present superintendent superintend-ent of the great Centennial Eureka mine but Is always found ready to lend encouragement to other promising properties not that there Is anything In Jt for him but because he is such a jjool fellow Mr Allen Js a great student of history his-tory and things and Is a most liberal patron of education in all Its branches lie Is an orator also Some of his addresses ad-dresses ot college commencements would wring tears from a trainload of rocks Mr Allen stands high In the regard of the people of Salt Lake and the rest of Utah and Is still greeted in a friendly manner when he visits his old home In the East |
