Show REIJitflN Of WOOLLEYS Descendants of Edwin D Woolley Meet ANNIVERSARY OF HIS BIRTH Ono Hundred and Twentyfive Descendants De-scendants of tho Bishop Who Presided Pre-sided Over tho Thirteenth Ward for Many Years and Died in 1881 Gathered Liberty Park Tester day Not a Few of the Younger Ones Had Never Seen Each Other Before Will Mc Annually I The floating population of Liberty park was largely Increased yesterday and as one of those In attendance cx I pressed iltlte name might with good grace have been temporarily changed I to AVoolleyvllle The occasion was the fourth celebration since his death of the I anniversary oC the birthday of the late Ulnhop NVoblley who presided over the Thirteenth ward for so many years and who died In thlp city on Friday October Octo-ber H 1S81 It was the ninetyseventh anniversary of the birthday of the bishop There were representatives present from various portions of the Slate Mrs Abram Hatch his daughter daugh-ter and family lcnl11o In from Ilober City and the bishops oldest hon John Woollcv with his family was down from Centcrvllle Four generations of the family were represented For the first lime many members of the family r1 I I I Edwin D Woolley i met each other and while the older ones understood how lifes duties kept them so much apart the little ones could scarcely realize that they had so many relatives whom they had never before seen One hunderd and four descendants of the late bishop sat down to dinner and various others visited the park during the day It estimated by John AV Woolley and George E Woolley the oldest and the youngest sons of the bishop respectively that there were fully 125 present during the day There was no set programme the day being devoted to social greetings talkIng talk-Ing over old times and the recitation of Incidents which had happened since the last meeting Luncheon was also served later in the day and at dusk the tables were cleared and the guests went home It Is the Intention of the family to hold these reunions annually hereafter ando and-o make the 100th anniversary of the birthday of the bishop the crowning one of them all There are about 500 of his descendants In various parts of the world |
