Show so FcIUM ER DEAD Mrs Henry Davis Expired While Asleep HEART FAILURE THE CAUSE Mrs Davis Had Recently Come Hero Prom Scofield to Visit Her Son Who Is Attending School in the City She Had Been Ill but Was Feeling Better 011 Thursday Supposed Sup-posed to Have Died Soon After Retiring Re-tiring One of Her Sons a Victim of Scofield Disaster I Mrs Henry Davis who came here from Scollcld lo visit her son a student stu-dent in the Salt Lake Business college died of heart failure some time during Thursday night The horrifying discovery dis-covery of her death was made by the younrj man yesterday morning at about C oclock when he went to her room to j call her Receiving no response to his I effort to awaken her he quickly per I cclved the reason therefor and hastened has-tened for assistance Dr McCoy was summoned and pronounced heart failure fail-ure as the cause of her sudden demise The body was removed to ODonnells I undertaking parlors where Justice I Sommcr after hearing the circumstances circum-stances of he death decided that no Inquest was necessary The husband of the dead woman who is a miner at Scofleld was immediately notified of his bereavement The remains will betaken be-taken to Scofield for burial and will leave Salt Lake at 830 this morning Bishop T J Parmelee will conduct the funeral services at the Scofleld sleet Inghouse Sunday Mrs Davis came to Salt Lake accompanied ac-companied by her younger son on October I Oc-tober 12th for the purpose of visiting I 5 the elder son who Is at school She decided to stay here and keep house for her boys About a week ago she complained of suffering from a cold but on Thursday she said that she was feeling better than usual She retired at about 10 oclock and ati hour later John Davis the elder son entered the house and made he said considerable noise He spoke to his mother when he came In but received no reply He paid no attention to the fact of her silence si-lence believing her to be asleep It was not until morning that he discovered dis-covered that she was dead The deceased was born at Merthyr Tydvll South Wales In June 3853 She married John Davis In 18S1 and came to Utah In the same year having previously joined the Mormon church She leaves a husband and two sons a John and Henry Another son William I was one of the victims of the Scofield mine explosion |
