Show MRSg H 1 LTU ACCUSED Complaint Filed Charging Hea With Adultery WILL BE ARRAIGNED TODAY I I I I The Complaining Witness is Charles J MTostyn Owen and tho Allegation I Is That She Being tliQWife of Dr John K Park on January 11899 Committed Adultery with William Hilton Complainant Says He Has j No Connection With the Beneficiary i of the Park Will I I Proceedings for the prosecution on the I charge of adultery of Annie P A Hilton Hil-ton the reputed wife of Police Officer I William Hilton but who claims to have been the legal wife of the late Dr John I H Park were yesterday Instituted by I Charles Mostyn Owen The matter was laId before County Attorney Putnam by Mr Owen who swore to a complaint charging that Mrs Hilton on January I 1 1899 committed adultery with William Wil-liam Hilton she being the wife of John I R Pork The warrant of arrest was I issued from Justice Nielsens court and I served last evening and Mrs Hilton will J be arraigned before the Justice at 2 I p m today BASIS OF THE CHARGE The basis of the charge is the complaint filed In the District court in which Mrs Hilton declared de-clared she was the wife of Dr Park and prays to be adjudged his lawful widow and entitled to a dower Interest In his property rhis taken with the fact that she has lived with Hilton I and borne him children Mr Owen sa sIs s-Is sufficient In the Interest of good morals to Justify the proceedings which he has instituted sIt s-It was hinted yesterday that the action ac-tion was taken at the instance of friends of officers of the University of Utah the sole beneficiary of the Park will in order to deter Mrs Hilton from prosecuting her suit to recover a widows portion of the estate Mr Owen however said that such was not the case that he had had no communication communi-cation with any of the University people peo-ple and that he was acting in the matter mat-ter solely on his own volition and on his own responsibility WILL FIGHT TO A FINISH Attorney N V Jones who represents repre-sents Mrs Hilton said last evening that ho had nothing to say at the present r time beyond an expression that the I suit seems to have been brought as a means of spite or retaliation He did not wish to charge that the Regents of the University were behind it butIf be added no matter what menl1s rc I means are resorted re-sorted to we shall fight the case to a llnlsh no matter who opposes nor how long It takes We expected that issues I would arise we must meet them as they come up As to our plan of action I that Is another story We will have to be governed by circumstances I I suppose I |
