with the completion of its uew tramway over which the ores arc to be passed directly from the mine to a loading station on the Rio Grando Western the Silver King will Increase its output to COOO tons per month the production at present consisting of about 2300 tons crude ore and concentrates concen-trates Indeed It Is said that thin would have been done some time ago had facilities provided by tram been at the companys disposal as but little exertion la required to double the tonnage ton-nage Again the handling of the output out-put by team has been sluggish not to I take Into consideration the cost and this has perhaps kept the bonanza from asserting Its real strength as a producer Just what earnings arc being be-ing derived from the present tonnage Js au Item with which the shareholders sharehold-ers only are conversant although It Is claimed that the surplus after distributing dis-tributing ii monthly dividend of 50 cents a shuro or 75000 has attained flguresgaround 500000 With the output out-put Increased to double the present tonnage and with ore enough blocked out to keep the big holster busy for a decade the shareholders are looking forward to a surprise when the dividends divi-dends for 1901 slmll have been fixed at the meeting In January and all sorts of predictions are being Indulged In With tho payment of the September dividend those of the year have nicely while a new tunnel which was started a few days ago has already gone seven feet Into a body the extent of which has not been determined In the opening there is now exposed about thirty Inches of galena with live and a half feet of carbonates with no footwall yet In evidence Assays from the galena that were had In town yesterday showed the presence of J05 per cent lead and sbc ounces sliver while those from the carbonates gave 27 per cent lead and 3 ounces silver these values occurring right at the grass roots With six feet of this ore In the breast of the tunnel l and no footwalr yet exa posed the visitors from camp ar look Ks l upon the development as some v hit of a sensational one In the meantime the management of the HomeetuUe Is taking ore out of the original workings that runs very heavy In lend with a characteristic amount of silver and will have a lot on the market mar-ket in a few days At the Eldorado which Is being developed by the same crowd a shaft Is now being sunk in mineral that shows ns much as 125 percent per-cent lead with some silver Handling Highland Boy Ores To meet the requirements of Its en larged smelter and to provide It with 500 tons dally the loading station on the Highland Boy tramway at Blng ham is to be removed to the entrance of No 7 tunnel at the mine and to that end Joe Dederlch who conslrucled the tramway originally has the work In Imnd With the loading stationestab lished at the lower tunnel that will In future be the main outlet everything blocked out above that level may be moved forward by gravity and at a saving of at least some cents that In the course of a year must rear themselves them-selves into not a few dollars With the exception oC changing the loaTJing station the tramway which will be shortened will remain as at present with two shifts Instead of one to re spend to the smelters Increased re quirements At present but one crew Is required to supply its needs DnlyWests Increased Product The record Ir the offices of the Daly u est Mining company reveals a most astonishing Increase iu the production of copper at its Park City properties and while the red metal contained In us ores docs nol compare with silver and lead It is daily becoming a source of Increased revenue Although the average reader Is not aware of it the copper average during the present year has been Increased to 35 per cent and there Is every indication that this average will bo exceeded as the output from lower levels is Increased Until the elaborate report was issued by the management of the mine last season the fact that copper was a quantity In Park City ores was known to but verv few At intervals pockets of very high grades ore have been uncovered lii thu DalyWest but that the average lias settled down to 35 per cent will be a revelation to not a few it is cstl I mated that the output of copper from the mine this season will doub that o any previous year Nine Feet of Oro in Yankee William Hatfield who came In from aintlc yesterday after several days among the mines and Prospects says toot at the property of the Yankee Con there was nine feet of ore exposed and that of this QL least for feet con sists of solid galena the remainder of carbonates carrying chloride of elil var with assays showing several hun tired ounces per ton aitv Hatflcld con fessen that he was astonished at the showing made In the Yankee and says the period of doubt concerning the permanency of the ore body wal passed some days ago The manage ment has now started to drift north and south under the ore and with con nections made at these points the out put should be very active First Caribou Shipment The Caribou of Mineral basin near American Fork has Its initial lot of ore oarl the Conklln sampler and with satisfactory returns iMii continue to ship steadily The ore consists of a heavy galena running well up in sliver according to assays and as It is very desirable at the smelter should afford the company good margin The now P imp which is being Installed will enable tho management to KO to greater dopth on the ores at once and the ore body should ns In neighboring bAt ground increase rapidly At the Fortune Elmer E mil
