City Coun cll last evening rejected all bids received re-ceived for the 5250000 Issue of municipal munici-pal water improvement bonds and leCt It open for new bids to be considered Il A bill for an ordinance prescribing the 1v form of bond was Introduced by Councilman J Coun-cilman Robertson In which It was provided pro-vided that the bonds be dated September lit Septem-ber 1st payable twenty years thereafter there-after in lawful money bearing interest L at the rate of 4 per cent and redeemable redeema-ble at the option of the city In ten years On motion of C R Howe the ordinance was amended providing that the bonds I bear date of October IsU The amendment amend-ment was adopted and the ordinance i passed in that form The bid of Rollins I a Sons of par 2165 premium and accrued i ac-crued Interest which had been accepted by the Mayor and the Finance committee commit-tee subject to the approval of the 1 I Council was for bonds dated September 1 i Septem-ber 1st and the change In the date had I the effect of rejecting that bid A bid was received last evening from 4 OMeara Co as agents for E D Shepard Co of New York offering 2GOO premium and accrued Interest from September 1st the bidders to pay r for the engravjng The change in the date knocked out this bid too andO and-O enra withdrew it with the intention I of submitting a new bid The slate Is now clear and afresh last April had not been carried out and recommending that the Council Instruct In-struct the Board of Public Works to advertise again for bids for laying the new main so that It cart be done this season and brought Into use next year r Canning and Fernstrnm opposed spending spend-ing 50000 or 60000 for laying larger water mains In City creek when the I present pipe In large enough to carry nil
