Show PLAN TROTTING ASSOCIATION I Local Horsemen Negotiating for Ba cing Stock The past week has been an unusually unusu-ally Interesting one among the horse nien Some of those who went out of tile racing business during the past two or three years have the fever once more and are now negotiating for racingslock Tom McCoy wh6 sold all his race horses last summer Is now sorry he did not see far enough ahead to expect the mile track which the D > A M society will build in the spring He sold two runners one of which Miss Ilemson won the majority or the big purses on the Montana circuit cir-cuit last year Hal Coibotl who outpaced out-paced every horse In the State was sold fOI a road horse Corbctl Was defeated but once and that was two years ngo by Tombstone In a previous race Coibett beat Tombstone McCoy uld he would not Invest In runners as there was too much trouble with the jockeys who ran the races to suit themselves and paid little or no attention atten-tion to the owners of the horses In pacing or trotting races McCoy drives his own horses and If he loses it Is because his horse IK not good enough to beat the other fellow he hays 11 McKcnzlc who sold Tombstone is now anxious to get back Into the business Tic is trying to buy a fast trotter which will be one of the top notchers In the State Mayor Thompson Thomp-son has not disposed of his racing stock and his horses will undoubtedly bo seen on the track next season as they were last year C J Crabtrcc is also looking up stock with the Intention Inten-tion of buying He was manager of the races last year at Calders park Frank Wilson will be one of the racing men In the front row and will have several head on the track Many more of the horsemen will enter the business and dovote some of their time to horse racing There Is some talk off of-f foimlng foiling t association among the horseowners of the city to promote pro-mote the sport for pleasures sake Salt Lake has been a little backward In the matter owing to the lack of a good mile truck |
