Show STEPS IN SCHLEY CASE Conference Between Admirnl and His Counsel in Washington Washington Dec 2S Admiral Schley was Joined nit his apartments at the Richmond toda by his counsel Mr Isador Raynor and Assistant Counsel McTague who came over from Baltimore Balti-more at the Admirals request In order to rake further steps If any were to betaken be-taken in the Schlej case The parties to the conference remained together throughout the morning and well Into tho afternoon When representatives of the press fient up curds of inquiry I they were returned with the statement I that there wer TIO developments and nothing to be made public at the present pres-ent time I Is Understood the purpose of the meeting Is to decide what shall be done in the way of civil action against the author or publisher of tho Maclay history which was the basis of the recent I investigation The conference ended at 2 oclock and Mr Raynor returned to Baltimore No statement was made as to the results re-sults reached except that such further steps as might be taken will deal with legal rather than naval phases of the controversy Admiral and Mrs Schley will leave In about a week for a trip to the South to be gone abput two weeks He has not yet made up his itinerary but will do l 5 next week f |
