Show HAD A LIVELY TILT Row in W C T IT Over Report of S 1 Committee on Resolutions Fort Worth Tex Nov 13The fourth days session of the National W C T U had under consideration In the morning the dead of the year work among negroes work in penal and reformatory institutions and among soldiers and sailors The afternoon after-noon session had for Its chief business busi-ness the report of the committee on resolutions The report of the committee on resolutions reso-lutions brought on a lively tilt The delegates for the Oklahoma und Indian Territory opposed a resolution denouncing de-nouncing Statehood and other delegates dele-gates condemned another Indorsing the Prohibition party These were made the special order for tomorrow Resolutions Reso-lutions wer adopted as follows Declaring as the basic principle of temperance reform that prohibition Is fundamental for an enduring national life Denouncing any direct or indirect system of license or legal sanction of the liquor tralllc as contrary to gospel and unconstitutional In law and oppose op-pose the manufacture sale or trans portallon of alcoholic liquors in any State or Territory under the jurisdiction jurisdic-tion of the United States Approving the action of Congress In passing the anticanteen law and declaring that we shall continue to urge upon Congress Con-gress the necessity of appropriating a sufllclent fund to provide a comfortable comforta-ble amusement room and an improved ration Calling earnestly upon the Church of Christ by whatever name to help In law custom and in political customs the teachings of our lord and master Jesus Christ An encouraging feature of the forenoon fore-noon session was a statement from the chair that the amount of money pledged and collected at this meeting was the largest ever realized at any gathering of the W C T U |
