| Show FOUND IN MENTAL COLLAPSE I Martin Gancgan Former Salt Laker in n Fit of Unconsciousness Early this morning n man was found by United States Attorney Whittemore on the corner of Sixth South and Seventh Sev-enth East In a semiunconscious state Mr Whittemore telephoned the police who went down and found that it was Martin Ganegan of Fresno Cal who has been stopping at the Knutsford hotel since coming to the city I seems that Saturday night he was attending I party of some kind at 200 East Seventh South when ho fell lit a fit and was taken to tho hotel and Dr Miles summoned Ho seemed to recover and Sunday evening started out for a walk which ended as above stated Officer Smith who is acquainted acquaint-ed with his history somewbat says that he used to be in business In Salt Lake some years ago and moved to California Califor-nia where his wife Is now residing The man partly recovered when brought to the station but his reason Is completely gone and nothing can bo learned from him On his person were several telegrams from California concerning con-cerning money matters but there was no money on him and it was learned at the Knutsford that he has had none for several days I seems to be a case for the hospitals rather than the police po-lice statIon The insane man was taken to the county jail at an early hour this mornIng I morn-Ing |
