Show ed to the purchase of two special permits, either multiple unit or two deer, but only one may be purchased for any one deer herd unit. All rules and regulations covering cov-ering the big game hunts will soon be published in proclamation proclama-tion form and reprints available to the public. The seasons were set following hearings conducted by the Board in the state where recommendations recommenda-tions were submitted by individuals indi-viduals and organizations. These recommendations were weighed along with those of the Utah Interagency In-teragency Committee in setting the hunts. Big Came Seasons Set for '62 by Fish-Game Board The 1962 big game seasons have now been set by the Utah Board of Big Game Control. Except Ex-cept on four herd unit areas, a general state wide eleven day deer season was scheduled for October 20-30. On the Heaston, Vernon, Stansbury and Tintic units, the hunt will be for six days, Oct. 20-25. The archery deer season is set for Sept. 1-16. Only rifle hunts for deer this fall will begin Oct. 13 on the Henry Mountain, Muddy, and Paunsaugant units. Longer seasons and extended weekends and special permits were set for several of the state's 62 deer herd units where the Board found a greater harvest needed. Some 2,420 elk permits were authorized. General elk season will be Sept. 22-30, though a longer and later season was set for some herd units. Buck hunting only for 125 antelope an-telope on five units was set for a season of Aug. 18-20 and Aug. 25-27. Permits for taking 20 mature buffalo were authorized for a season of Sept. 8-16. Fifteen permits for hunting bull moose were scheduled for a Sept. 22-30 season. The Board decreed that both red and yellow colored hunting clothing would continue to be legal for the big game hunts.
