Show Justice Lester Wade Files for Return To Supreme Court Chief Justice Lester A. Wade of the Utah Supreme Court has filed as a candidate for reelection to a regular 10-year term. Under the state's non-partisan judiciary election law, candidates for the bench file in July. If only one candidate files in that period he is automatically elected for the new term. If more than one candidate files, an election is conducted on a special non-partisan judicail ballot. Justice Wade will complete his second 10-year term at the end of this year. Before becoming a supreme court judge he was a district judge in Utah's Second District for 10 years, being elected to that position three times. He is a native of Weber County and received his law degree from the University of Chicago in 1917. |
