Show Registrations from Tremonton and Brigham City can be made through Professor Ray James, College of Commerce and Social Science, at Utah State University Univer-sity or through local Chambers of Commerce. Six Lectures Set On Small Business Small business owners and managers of Utah will have an opportunity to learn the latest in business trends through the series of six lectures now being planned by the University of Utah, Brigham Young University Univer-sity and Utah State University. Local Chambers of Commerce are co-sponsoring the "Management "Manage-ment Development Program for Managers of Small Businesses" with the universities. The course consists of six lectures once a week for six weeks and is scheduled to begin March 6, at USU. The courses will conclude on Friday, April 13, with a banquet for all participants at Lowells in Murray. Carl Buehner of Buehner Block Co. will speak at the ban quet and present certificates to those completing the course. Lecturers will include V. D. Gardner, professor of Business Administration, and Dr. Robert P. Collier, dean of the College of Business Administration and Social Sciences, both of Utah State University; Dr. Clyde N. Randall, dean of the College of Business, and Dr. Roland Hicks, visiting associate professor of Marketing, both of the University Univer-sity of Utah; and Dr. Parley P. Pratt, associate professor of Business Management and professor pro-fessor Sterling D. Sessions of the Department of Business Management, both of Brigham Young University. Mr. Gardner will speak on "Managing Working Capital," Dr. Randall of "Tax Planning and Management," Professor Sessions on "Increasing Profits Through Inventory Control," Dr. Hicks on "Greater Returns from Limited Advertising," Dr. Pratt on "Better Performances from Employees," and Dr. Collier on "The Changing Business Environment." En-vironment." Coordinating the planning for the course are Drs. Randall, Col-ier, Col-ier, and Weldon J. Taylor, dean of the College of Business at BYU. Persons from Murray, Mid-vale Mid-vale and South Salt Lake who wish to participate in the course may register at the Murray Chamber of Commerce. Those from Salt Lake City can register through Earl Smith, Conferences and Institute office, Extension Division, University of Utah. , Registration in the Provo area can be made through Dr. Pratt at the BYU College of Business, through the BYU Conference and Workshop Office or through Provo Chamber of Commerce. |
