Show Freedom Foundation Announces Theme For 1962 Roll Call "What have you done for freedom free-dom today?" will be the theme for the 1962 Freedoms Roll-Call, Roll-Call, sponsored annually by Freedoms Free-doms Foundation at Valley Forge, to be conducted February Febru-ary 15-28. it was announced by Admiral Arthur W. Radford, former for-mer Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and National Chairman of the annual Roll-Call educational educa-tional campaign. In announcing the theme, which is designed to tug at the conscience of every citizen awakening him to the necessity to think, speak and act in behalf of freedom every day in the week Admiral Radford said, "never was a theme more appropriate, ap-propriate, for today the United States is engaged in a cold, all-out, all-out, total war with Communism for the hearts and minds of men which will be won only if our citizens are more dedicated, more active and more articulate in behalf of our way of life than the Communists are of theirs." Feature of the Roll-Call campaign cam-paign will be a "Freedoms Handbook" Hand-book" outlining what individuals, individ-uals, organizations and communities commun-ities can do to help preserve and perpetuate the American Way. The "Handbook" will be given to all who send in a membership mem-bership contribution of one dollar dol-lar or more to Freedoms Foundation Foun-dation at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Pennsyl-vania. Another innovation of this year's Roll-Call will be a "Freedom "Free-dom Jingle" sung by Frankie Laine, popular singing star which will be made available to radio stations throughout the country. Freedoms Foundation at Valley Val-ley Forge is a non-profit, non-sectarian, non-sectarian, non-political organization organiza-tion founded in 1949 to rededi-cate rededi-cate all Americans to the principles prin-ciples of our Constitutional form of government. In the 12 years since its founding, it has received more than 1,000,000 entries on Americanism from schools, citizens citi-zens from all walks of life, newspapers, news-papers, magazines, radio and TV stations. In that time, it has made more than 12,000 awards in the form of cash, medals, citations and pilgrimages. Dwight D. Eisenhower is Honorary Chairman; Chair-man; Herbert Hoover is Honorary Honor-ary President. To house the award-winning collection of Americana and to serve as a center for study, research re-search and training in the American Amer-ican System of Free Enterprise, Freedoms Foundation has started construction of a new American Freedom Center at Valley Forge at a cost of $1,500,000. Funds to complete the structure are being solicited from the public through purchase of "Freedom Bricks." |
