Show Norman Sims Resigns From Correction Board Norman L. Sims Tuesday ten-dered ten-dered his resignation as a member mem-ber of the Utah Board of Corrections Correc-tions to "permit new blood to be appointed." In a brief letter of resignation Mr. Sims told Gov. George D. Clyde that he was resigning from the seven-member board for "personal reasons." The resignation res-ignation would become effective Feb. 1. Mr. Sims was appointed to the board seven years ago by former Gov. J. Bracken Lee. "I have been considering resignation res-ignation for some time but did not feel it would be wise to do so' when the board was under fire," Mr. Sims said later. The board came under fire recently because of disclosures of widespread wide-spread laxity in prison administration. adminis-tration. Mr. Sims' term of office would have expired March 1, 1961. |
