Who benefits from the inocme? Just about everybody, according to figures compiled by American Forest Products Industries who sponsor the America Tree Farm System of growing trees as a crop on taxpaying lands. Forest industry workers spent $921,000 of this payroll at gro-cery stores and delicatessens. Their car purchases brought to car dealers $177,600 and another $120,000 went for gas and oil. Some $259,000 of this payroll went into savings while $52,800 was donated to churches and charities. Another $264,000 went for clothing, and $57,600 was spent for shoes. Medical care doctors, dentists, hospitals, drugs and medicines took $177,600. Thomas Welch of Midvale, a spokesman for the industry, said good forest management and a wise use of the forest resource will assure a permanent supply of raw materials for Utah's for-est industries and a stable source of income for the state. The western pine lumberman warned, however, that death and decay in the state's static old-grow- th forests are taking more timber than is harvested for use each year. Only when these over ripe trees have been harvested and replaced by new crops of vigorous young timber will this huge mortality be reduced. NOTICE TO CREDITORS Estate of SAMUEL C. BAILEY, Deceased. Army area, which includes Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Washing-ton, Nevada, California and Ari-zona. The announcement was made in San Francisco by Lt. Gen. Charles D. Palmer, Commanding Genreal, Sixth U. S. Army. The change, which must be complet-ed by Dec. 31, 1960 will make the Reserve organization identical to that of the Regular Army. It was explained by General Palmer that if Army Reserve units are to replace, reinforce, or relieve active Army units, it follows quite logically that their organization must be identical. The planned reorganization af-fects everyone in the Reserve, although many individual as-signments will remain unchanged and many units will retain their fundamental missions and basic organizations. As missions, weapons, and tac-tics change, many members of the Army Ready Reserve will find themselves taking on new duties, preparing to assume new responsibilities, becoming pro-ficient in new military occupa-tional specialties or filling new assginments. In the Tenth U. S. Army Corps (Reserve) five state area, this will affect 296 units, including 30 in Idaho, 40 in Montana, 55 in Oregon and in Clark Wash-ington, 57 in Utah and 114 in the balance of Washington, Maj. Gen. Francis Day, Tenth Corps commander, stated in Seattle. He said that details of the plan as they affect individual units will be anounced later.
