Muster Day activities began in Utah in 1954, under a plan instigated in-stigated by Gen. Rich to build the strength of the Utah National Guard. The plan met with such success in a ten hour period, 585 new men enlisted in the Utah Militia that it was accepted and adopted by the National Guard Bureau in Washington, D. In Utah the activities will be conducted state wide on February 21, 22 and 23, in conjunction con-junction with the birth of the nation's first president George Washington. Parades and most activities will be held Feb. 21. Climax of the day long demonstration demon-stration designed to enlist able bodied men in the National Guard and to assure the people of the communities of the Guard preparedness and capabilities to serve in the defense of the nation na-tion will be a military ball to be held in the ballroom of the Student Union Building of the University of Utah. Upwards of 2100 Army and Air National Guardsmen will parade through downtown Salt Lake City demonstrating manpower, heavy artillery and other modern mod-ern weapons used by the Guard. Gov. George D.
