Show U of U Reports Top Enrollment The University of tUah this quarter has more students registered reg-istered than ever before for a winter quarter nearly 10,000. Although some registrations still are being processed and are not included in figures released this week by Joseph A. Norton, registrar, the 9,389 students so far registered surpass the previous pre-vious record of 9,357 set in the winter quarter of the 1948-49 school year. The university has registered 8,161 daytime students and 1228 evening students. This is a 6.6 per cent increase over registrations registra-tions for winter quarter a f year . - ago. Fall quarter registration this year totaled 10,353 daytime and evening students and the decline de-cline for winter quarter is normal nor-mal as some ; students drop out to take jobs or for other reasons. rea-sons. Extension division of the University Uni-versity of Utah still is register-j ing students as additional evening eve-ning courses are started. Record 9,389 total undoubtedly will be increased, therefore, and final figures from the registrar's office of-fice are not expected for another three or four weeks. In addition to the total registrations regis-trations reported above, there are 609 non-degree credit student stu-dent enrollments in the Extension Exten-sion Division so far this quarter. |
