The street supervisor has ordered resi-dent to clean the rank crass and weeds off the sidewalks in front of their premises, and a great improvement in the look of the streets is apparent all over the city as a re-sult. Hardy however wanted to do a little thinking on the matter. Lawson theu moved that the rate be five mills upon the assessed value within the corporate limits. Ewing said the committee had figured the estimates very close and that live mills was not too large in which he was supported by Lawson and Wantland. Hardy however had a spell of reform and the mauuer in which he recited expen- ditures iu the water and health department-wa- s quite Randall like. He wanted to re-duce the rate of taxation in order to attract outside capital.
