Show THE RAILROAD ACCIDENT. Conductor Harper Dead The Coroner's Inquest No One to Blame. Conductor J. W. Harper, who was injured in the accident at Soldier Summit on the Rio Grande Wester Friday morning, died of his injuries at the Holy Cross Hospital today. to-day. The unfortunate man never recovered consciousness, and his body was brought down to Joseph Willing Taylor's undertaking undertak-ing rooms, where the inquest was held on the remains of both victims of the accident this afternoon. The coroner's investigation failed to elicit anything much further than was pub lished in The Times' account of the affair yesterday. The engineer of the train, William Wil-liam Burrows, the fireman, C. H. Marshall, and the brakeman who jumped R. L. Rice, were all examined and the jury returned a verdict in both cases oj accidental death, relieving re-lieving the railroad company of any blame in the premises. |
