Tho afternoon's delih.-ratiou- s were pre-ceded by a veritable festival of melody hy the Offden band under the leadership of Major Y. W. Kent, t.''c delecatcs respondini; to his selections with three cheer. The pipers from Park City follow ed in an olio of selec-tions that were thoroughly enjoyed hy the vast attendanee Itiat was now taxing the pavilion and its benches to its utmost. Not a chair was unoccupied at :5 o'clock and to save the visitors from "tie" service, Secretary Allen devoted full two hours to the countersigning of "trip tickctb" over th railroads. Judge Powers finally mounted the plat-form and, in Kehnlf of the Kio Grande Western, extended the visitors to the citv en invitation to visit the gas wells at o'clock this evening. Young "Democracy." The Young Men's "Democratic" club held a nieetiiiL' last ni'ht at the Fifteenth ward meeting house which was fairly well attended. The speakers on this momentous occasion were Elder Snow, Col. Lett, Elders Walded and Timmony, Judge Henderson, Elder Dyer and Messrs. McLean, Burke and Condon. With all of them it was but little more than a rehash of remarks made the previous evening at the ratilieation held in the Walker pavilion. Elder Snow gave his testimony to the effect that the democratic party I the especial friend of the working man in Mull Lake City and everywhere else. Col. Lett sustained tho remarks of the elder and so far as words could portray he showed that he was the best friend of the laboring man's rights and interest that was ever put forward for an office. He talked about the Lord of Hosts with whom, of course, he ex-pects to have more Intimate relationship than at present, and a revalation struck him all at once that be would be the next mayor of Salt Lake City. Elder Walden, now city treas-urer, proclaimed to the assemblage that he wanted to be city treasurer. Like the Widow Butler, he had been there before and wanted to get there again. Elder Tim-mon-was on the warpath. Misrule and extravagance were prevalent here, and he was thoroughly sick of the business. Of course the elder, never favored the hill for continuation of the present horribly horrid city administration, but be failed to an-nounce the fact. Judge Henderson said he couldn't keep track of the liberal ticket, al-though ho didn't assert that he will not "Democratic Meotinits." I "Democrats" jubilated and ratified afl Sixteenth and Twentieth ward school bo'J ' last evening.
