The Verdict of the Coroner's Jury L'pon the Tragic Death of Mrs. Elite Wight man. The coroner, after a series of adjourn-ments, finally got down to an inquest upon the remains of Mrs. ElH-- j Wightinan at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The jury returned a verdict of suicide. The evidence in the case diifered in no ma-terial way from that which has already ap-peared in tlie.-- columns. Miss Daly, a niece of the deceased, testi-fied that she had called her aunt for break-fast, aud then, retiring to the kitchen, heard the fatal report. She rushed back and found her lyiiiij dead in Hrig Ellerbeck's room in the cottage. Witness, as an evidence of the melancholia that had periodically overcame the spirits of Mrs. Wightuian's life, called attention to the fact that once before she bad attempted her life, but had failed. On that occasion she poisoned herself In Hot Spriugs, Arkausas. Brig Ellerbeck, whom, it appears.siekcned of the same old diet aud restaurant hash, went to the little dwelling that he might receive quiet lodgings and a "family" meal occasionally, testified that he had roomed at the house for three mouths and was lying in his bed ou the morning of the ' Butte about Christmas, and In sending for his wife this time said it was only for a short time, as lie intended to move to Lake, which he liked much fetter than Kutte. But for the present he ws' in financial shape to make the change, owing mostly to the litigation he was iuvolved in. With this the inquiry was submitted, aud a verdict rendered in accordance with the testimouy. He testitied that he was married to deceased six years ago at which time was afflicted with curvature of the spine, etc. These troubles aud a naturally gloomy disposition made her at times des-perate, but there had nut been any attempt at suicide since their marriage until this last time. Deceased had extravagant tastes and plunged into debt without letting her husband know about It, She kept writing for money, aud he fur-nished her all he could, but had learned on coining to this city that she had bough things he had no knowledge of, etc. How to make both ends meet Without telling her husband everything worried deceased a (Test deal, and siie was continually in fear of be-coming poor.
