Show FAILED TO AGREE. The Jury in the Cass Iflte Murder Trial DischargedTen for Conviction. Provo, March 5. The jury in the Cass Hite murder case were unahle to agree upon a verdict and were discharged this morning by Judge Blacklmrn. They stood ten for conviction aud two for acquittal, the first story that reached the rounders making it appear that there were ten lor acquittal. The case has heen one of Hie most exciting ex-citing ever tried in this district, and from both sides came every influence that could hear on an issue of this nature. Kohler had his friends, and staunch friends they were. They had determined that if there was a possibility they would have the blood of Hite in expia'ion of Kohler's duaib, and with this determination no stone waft left unturned. It has brought a number of men with "records" face to face and not an inch was given on either sido. The efforts of the counsel for the defense were fully met by tbt counsel for the prosecution, prose-cution, aud thai a verdict was not arrived at is the occ asion for little surprise. |
