Show FOR CONTAGIOUS DISEASES. There is a growing sentiment in several sev-eral of the larger cities in favor of establishing es-tablishing hospitals where those suffering suffer-ing with contagious diseases can be isolated iso-lated and treated. From the numerous cases which have been brought to our attention of violations of the health ordinances or-dinances in this city, in houses where contagious diseases exist, we are inclined in-clined to think such an institution would be a blessing here. It seems almost impossible to teach some people that it is their duty to have a regard for the health and even tha lives of others; for they will come ftM homes where a deadly contagio lovering TiveV Its prey, and mingle wV their neighbors. oblivious - of the fatal germs they are carrying with them every where J - It was only last night that an attache of this paper was conversing with a gentleman in one of the principle hotels, who confessed con-fessed that he had a child dangerously ill with diphtheria. The Times man asked it he did not appreciate the danger dan-ger incurred of communicating that dread scourge -to others; and the man replied that he had never thought of it. Such carelessness is almost criminal. It is expected of the physicians who have charge of these cases that they will insist in-sist that the inmates of the same house shall not mingle with the passing throng with impunity. |
