The consignment comprised Hou.Oiio poods (7,SiX),0(KI Knglish pounds) ol barley Hour purchased in Lilian with it view of regulating the price of wheat in St. Petersburg, as well as to afford relief to the famine sufferers. The. investigation has proved that the entire en-tire consignment was adulterated w ith chalk die-t and other substances. They comprised such a large proportion of the consignment that the use of the alleged flour would constitute con-stitute a very dangerous ineuace to the health if uot the lives of those who partook ol it.
