Show Dk. Skwakd Weiih has purchased IMO.OOO acres of laad in the wildest part of the Adirandacks and will establish a magnificent park. Ono hundred and twenty thousaud acres of thn land has been laid oil in a generally circular form, the tract having a d:ametcr of about twenty-five miles. This w ill be surrounded by a wiro fenco ton feet high aud so cloiio that a dog cannot pass throughjit. An army of foresters will be'emplied guard tlie place, and an expert from the Smithsonian institute will be in charge tit a princely salary. It sounds strange to hear of such a park being established in the Uuitcd States. To be sure, the land is worthless for agricultural purposes, but it seems ns if tho public should have tho benefit of it in some way. |
