Show A NARROW ESCAPE. A Kuaaway That Cam Very Near K.nding In an Appalling Cnanxlty. A thrilling incident of tho run to the fire at 11 o'clock this morning was a runaway in which Mrs. Edwin Pace and her infant narrowly escaped serious seri-ous injuries. The wagon occupied by them was standing on First South when the apparatus with the sounding gongs j came dunging through the tborough- fare ami caused a panic among the teams. Mr. Pace, who was dealing I with a grocer at the time, seized the reins just in time to save his family aud at Commercial street they were brought to a halt, his wife and child having in the meantime been thrown to the bed of the wagon. |
