A meeting of the Boston Players' League club, called by the secretary under direction of the president. presi-dent. C. A. Prince, was held today at the St. James hotel. The session this morning was occupied with a discussion discus-sion of the present condition of the eagues affairs and as to the prospeot of ' its future usefulness and prosperity. This afternoon action will be taken on the withdrawal of the New York and. Pittsburgh clubs from the league and other important business will be transacted. trans-acted. The league is willing to turn, over the stock it holds in the Cincinnati 1 club to Al Johnson. Philadelphia and New York are ready to do the same provided Johnson is allowed to manage the Cincinnati clnb. President Prince is determined that Boston will hare a club in the association next year. - |
