Show REAL ESTATE NEE The Exchange Secures a Hew Lease on Its Present Quarters at Ee-, Ee-, duced Rent. PLANS FOE THIRTY COTTAGES. No Other Business at . the Call Meeting This Morning A Letter Prom a New Hampshire Tanner. The real estate exchange will continue con-tinue to occupy its present quarters. Their lease expires on the 10th inst., and some weeks ago the exchange came lo the conclusion that they were paying too much rent. The rent charged was $175 per month. A committee was appointed ap-pointed to secure other quarters. A number of desirable rooms were found but the members were loath lo leave their present very comfortable and convenient con-venient meeting place on Second South street: At last It was determined to odor tho agent $75 per month for the rooms. This was done this morning and the offer was accepted. This decision has made happy almost every man in the exchange. More convenient con-venient rooms could not be found in the citv and tho members had become attached at-tached to tho place. A new lease will at once be drawn up. Bfany Were llittcn. A gentleman from San Francisco called at the chamber of commerce this morning on a mission of inquiry in regard re-gard to the Salt Lake view addition. He claimed that he was not himself one of tho victims, but said that that field had been well worked by the 2-eent postage stamp scheme and a number of his friends had bitten. Secretary Montgomery showed him a copy of Ihe letter written to the San Francisco Examiner Ex-aminer on the sumo subject, which was printed in Tiik Tim km in full, and asked him to inquire of the Examiner people why they had not printed the letter. The Call Meeting. No business was transacted at the call meeting of the real estate exchange this morning. There was a fair attendance attend-ance and an hour was spent in talking over the outlook. The general report is that business is brightening up. More lots have been sold iu the various additions during the past week than for the whole six week's proceeding it. The price for the majority of these lots rauged from $200 lo $400. For Thirty Cottages. V. G. Leonard has had plans prepared pre-pared for the erection of some thirty cottages to be erected in the vicinity of Fourth North and Fifth West streets. The houses will be built of brick. They will be one story and have- four and five rooms each and will cost from $1100 to $20,000 each. Wants to Start a Tanuery. Secretary Montgomery this morning received a letter from a tanner at Sinapee, N. II., who thinks that Salt Laka City offers a good opening for that business. He is desirous of forming a stock company, and asks for all infer, mation bearing on the subject. Yesterday's Real Estate Transfers.
