Show Ditgraclng a Great Name. George Hugo, the grandson of the poet, is a very poor representative of the illustrious illus-trious family to which he belongs. He is in appearance the heaviest dude in Paris and dresses most extravagantly. He never misses an opportunity to let people know who he is. A lady told me she was being served in a shop in the Avenue de l'Opera the other day, when Hugo came in and insisted on being attended at-tended to at once. The shopman demurred, de-murred, saying that ho had the lady to Attend to, whereupon the youth cried rut: "I suppose you do not know who I am. I am the grandson of Victor Hugo." t is a good thing that the old poet did pot live to see what the child about whom he wrote such feeling verses has developed devel-oped into. Paris Letter. |
