Show THE FORT DOUGLAS BILL. Governor West States that It Has Gone to the Socretary of War. Iu relation to tho parking of Fort Douglas, Secretary Gillespie of the chamber of commerce received this morning a letter, aud tho following bill from Governor West: House bill 9598 In the house of representatives representa-tives April 19, 1890. Head twice aud referred to the committee on appropriation, and ordered to be printed. 1 Mr. Breckeurldge of Kentucky introduced the following bill : A bill to make an appropriation appro-priation to put in order the military reservation reserva-tion at Fort Douglas, Utah territory. Be it enacted by the senate and and house of representatives of the United States of America, in congress assembled, that the sum of f 100,000 be, and the same Is hereby appropriated, out of any monies in the treasury, not otherwise adproprlatcrl, for tho purpose of parking aud planting with trees the lands lying between Fort Douglas and Salt Lake City, Utah, on the Fort Douglas military reservation, said parking aud planting to be done under the direction of the secretary ot war. . ' Gov. West says that tho above bill was scut to tho secretary of war last Friday with a request for information and estimates. Tke governor called upon tho secretary the following day. |
