The arrest of Kroker Musgrave for sending an pamphlet through the mails lias created a sensation i i high toned so-ciety. She played only with millionaires and gave not the least of her pur-pose. She was out for a social position as well as money, and through the kindness of ono or two big railway men in the 1'uWm club, ami her Astor connection, she got the entree to the erv swcllest of swell rccoptiors. She kissed the cheek of many a beautiful society rose-bud, just free from the toils of school, and drove through the country on the highest seat of a taHvhic, bv good KuiekerlxH'ker stuck, which would shudder at the suggestion that any one without a family tree and a large' rent roll could ever come within speaking distance of them. Miss Margaret Isabella Blaine Married to ft Famous and Popular Musician AFTER A MONTH'S POSTPONEMENT. The Wedding a Full Dres3 One and in Keeping With the Prominence of the Parties. Washington-- , May 17. Special. The marriage of Miss Margaret Isa-bella Blaine and Walter J. Damroseh, the famous musician, took place at 1 " clock this afternoon at the mansion of the bride's parents, in the presence of a largo and brilliant company. At the ceremony, which was performed in the large parlor of the second story, the Kov. Mr. Hamilton, pastor of the Church of the Covenant, of which Sec-retary and Mrs. Blaine are members, officiated. The wedding was to have taken place last month, but as Andrew Carnegie, an old and intimate friend of the Blaine family had to go south, it was postponed so as to give him an op-portunity to be present. At that time it had been determined to have a quiet wedding, but owing to the high ollie al position of the bride's father, and the fact of thc groom's nationality necess-itating the presence of the German minister at the nuptials, the plans then formed had to be reconsidered. There were no bridesmaids, but in all other respects the wedding was a full dress one in accordance with the wishes of Mr. Damroseh w ho had invited a large number of friends from New York and other cities to come here for the happy event. In addition to the president and cabiuet, there were present the diplomatic corps and the leading official families in Washing-ton. The presents were numerous enough to till one room, and they came from all parts of the country, but not a few of them were from friends across the Atlantic. The present of the diplo-matic corps to the bride was a magnifi-cent silver tea service, appropriately engraved. After a brief reception the newly wedded couple left for Baltimore, where they will occupy the residence of Mr. and Mi's. Emmons Blaine, which has been tendered to thein for the honeymoon. Towards the end of the month Mr. and Mrs. Damroseh, accom-panied probably by Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Carnegie, . will sail for Europe. Mr. Dam-roseh and his bride first met on Mr. Carnegie's coaching trip in Scot-land in 1888, they both being members of the party, and their 'acquaintance then ripened into an engagement. Mr. Diimrosch,' who is musical director of the Metropolitan opera house, Xew York, is one of the eminent musicians of the day. He was born January 30, 1802, and is consequently twenty-eigh- t years of age. The culminating suceess of his musical career, was tho successful performance in 1886 of "Parsifal," the most difficult of Wagner's operas, by the Oratorio and Symphony orchestras of New York, the first time it has been seen in the United States, His father, tho lato Dr. Leopold Damroseh. was a a celebrated musician and composer.
