Show ANOTHER WAR IS IT COMING? The following, from Progress Today, tells the story of the hideous hid-eous savagery being prepared for war should it come. "Those of us who have a little inside knowledge of vhnt it is like, ly to be like, through having studied stud-ied the subject of poison pas experiments ex-periments on animals, do not need to wonder. For surely there can be no doubt that poison gas attacks will form a large part of the offensive offen-sive in any war of the future, unless, un-less, of course, it be outlawed, and so completely controlled in advance of a war that preparations for it cannot be carried on. Assuming, then, a poison gas warfare, there will be no question of men going to war. War will come to us. It will come to all of us, men, women, and children; young, middle-aged, and old; rich and poor; civilian and belligerent. It will devastate all who come within with-in its path. Lewisite, in its liquid form (and, though called gas, it was used mainly in its liquid form towards the end of the last war) will, with even a few drops of it, burn out the whole inside of a "r in a few minutes. It will penetrate through the strongest armor plating. plat-ing. Chlorine leaves the victim struggling for life, his face blue and bloated with suffication, and blood. specked foam issuing from his mouth and nose. Green Cross gas literally fills the lungs with blood, so that the vcitim dies a gradual and painful death by drowning in his own blood. If all the schools of the nations during the last two-thirds of a century cen-tury had been faithfully taught the principles of humane education, justice, indness, reverence for life, good will, the inship of all men irrespective ir-respective of color, race or creed the principles of both Christianity and Judaism there would have been no World War, no cruelly unjust un-just Versailles Treaty with its aftermath af-termath of hatred, suspicion and fear, and no Europe today witnessing witness-ing the scenes in Ethiopia and trembling on the brink of such another cataevsm as twentv vonra ago and doomed rnillions to death, drove kings and princes from their thrones, shattered the chanceries of every warring nation and wreck ed their exchequers. |
