Show Rural Sanitation Program Reaches Peak in The State Ilcalth Officials Stress Improvement Improve-ment In Sanitary Conditions With Progress of Country-Wide Drive on Fly. The flv-menace of early summer weather in Utah and the entire country is being rapidly diminished as the Rural Sanitation Program reaches its peak, according to Dr. i J. L. Jones, state health commis sioner. The project is administrated in Utah by the Utah State Board of Health under sponsorship of the U. S. Public Health Service, with W. P. A. labor, and Dr. Jones points out that with the progress of this movement to remove the breeding place of flies, tho early j hot weather will lie much less dang erous. J. T. Lynch, assistant state director di-rector for the U. S. Public Health Service, states that more than. 10,-O00 10,-O00 sanitary outside toilets have tcen installed in Utah since the work began. This means that there re 10,000 less breeding-places for the deadly fly, and this carrier of typhoid and intestinal germs has been- definitely checked by the ready response of each community and its progrel.e citizens. The early appearance of the house-fly due to the early warm weather has awakened the interest of many Utah cities and towns where the Sanitation program is available, and the twenty-five counties coun-ties are being actively worked over by the solicitors and construction crews. County commissioners, school boards and health officers over the state, are co-operating with physicians, phy-sicians, newspapers, civic clubs, vomers clubs, church organizations organiza-tions and leading citizens to impress im-press every citizen with the im- portance of the Rural Sanitation program, and made the details of the project clear to every family. Not only does the sanitary outside out-side toilet contribute to the health and security of the family and neighborhood, but it adds to the -cleanly appearance and value of the property, maring the owner as a progressive citizen interested in the welfare of his community. Rsidents of unsewered areas are showing a commendable spirit in thus doing their part in this worthy work. The work in Davis county Is in charge of D. O.
