Show U. S. Mines Loses to Pinney The Pinney Beverages handed the U. S. Mines a 11-5 defeat here last Saturday afternoon. Ronnie Peacock, Pinney hurler, allowed the U. S. men eleven scattered hits, while Frank Reading allowed twelve hits well bunched by the Pinney crew. Home runs seemed to be the order or-der of the day. Tedesco, Butler, Morr and Reading all collected circuit cir-cuit blows. Butler, U. S. catcher, came out of a batting slump to get a home run, a triple, and two singles sin-gles from four trips to the plate. An unusual thing about Saturdays game was the placing of relief hit-ters- In the place of Zaccaria and Vecchio. In previous years these two boys have been at the top in hitting. But for some unknown rea-' son they have been in a slump practically all season. .
