Show molybdenum IN UINTA COUNTY considerable interest is being taken in the reported discovery in uinta county utah of molybdenum ore near nea r the junction of the green and deschesne Dus chesne rivers on the west side of the latter and a short distance above the old trading post of ouray it is stated that denver and eastern capital has become interested in the new discovery and that a deal is now pending covering several properties in that locality on which molybdenum has been found the initial discovery and locations were made by edward B D curtis albert B E amoore moses moore and J H arnold the molybdenum ores exist in blanket formation in wasatch sandstone the veins ranging up to three feet in width the ore being darker in appearance than copper sul aphides erosions ero exposing the veins so that but little prospecting is required it is too early yet to predict the value or probable outcome of the discovery but it is understood that negotiations are under way for the purchase of properties containing these deposits of this rare metal which just at this time is almost invaluable in the manufacture of high powered guns strange as it may seem it is reported that the best of these molybdenum discoveries have been made on patented property owned by the utah hydrocarbon company of salt lake city the surprising feature being that the company was unaware of the existence of this rare and valuable metal in its holdings the company owns twelve patented claims in the locality named the officers and directors are M R evans pre president aident george T odell vice president J heber richards secretary and treasurer A V taylor john pingree and F A druehl |
