Show WHY incorporate an inspection of official records will show the incorporation of thousands ormill of mining companies mention of such incorporation po ration win toe be made in the newspapers and this in all probability will be all that will ever be heard of nine tenths of them notwithstanding the fact that from time t to time some anxious enquirer will ask what such and such a company is doing this being the case the question may well be submitted why incorporate and the point is well taken for some unknown reason the owners of a group of mining claims seem to think that if they can turn a prospect over to an organized company that everything will be clear sailing thereafter that the success of the enterprise is assured reasoning on this basis they enlist the attention and interest of acquaintances and friends all of whom doubtless are as financially embar assed as they are themselves and proceed to incorporate believing that with a corporate existence they will have no trouble in enlisting capital in the furtherance of the enterprise this done they lay back waiting for the money ioney n to flow in but it flow worth a cent and the new blood associated with them proves to be aa a far as results are concerned and for the simple reason that the personnel odthe of the new Us association is lacking in every requisite necessary in the financing and development of a mining proposition the result of such a combination is so certain that it would be a waste of time to even make an inquiry as to what is being done and no matter how promising or valuable the property of the company may be the whole proposition ushered in with such enthusiasm and with apparently such bright prospects for the future is practically dead before it is born the gravest feature of the whole matter exists in the fact that a few thousand shares of the treasury stock of the company may have been disposed of to parties who will never never see the color of their money again while the former owners of the property have lost control of the same and cannot go ahead with development and operation even if they so desired unless they were willing to risk the chance of eventually regaining possession by location relocation re after the company had failed in the performance for mance of annual assessment work it takes more than numbers an association of individuals to carry on a mining venture successfully in the first place men experienced and successful in mining affairs affair sonly only should be given a place on the directorate of a mining company in the second place the board composed of such men should know where it can secure the funds necessary for mine development and third this development should be placed in the hands of capable men who have every teason reason to believe that the property of the company is capable of being developed into a regular producer and paying mine the owners of a good prospect should not be in haste to incorporate a company for mine development and exploitation A much better way would be to hold off for awhile doing the best they can in the meantime and possibly interesting a few individuals in their holdings in time if they are able to demonstrate even in a limited way the possibilities of their claims there are plenty of men to be found and who are waiting for the chance to form and properly finance a company that will have something back of it more substantial than a mere corporate name this being the case why incorporate unless there is something tangible to work on |
