Show FROM CRESTLINE TO work is being actively pushed by the salt lake route in the reconstruction of a temporary line through the meadow valley wash within a month the line should be in operation and should give relief to the congested condition of the road for the time being the main line however will hardly be built through the wash above Cal caliente lente and the mining review has information which it believes to be correct that the company will change its route and make connection with caliente over a stretch of country which will afford every advantage and facility and at the same time do away with heavy grades and dangers from floods and washouts wa shouts this new line it is understood will leave the old road at crestline near the head of meadow valley wash and heading almost in an easterly direction will connect with the caliente pioche branch at beacham Ye acham achain a few miles north of caliente from beacham the main road will run to Cal caliente lente from which point on its way to the coast it will continue to use the old right of way through the lower portion of the wash where the danger of washouts wa shouts is not as great as is the case above caliente the new route is reported to be a mos most t excellent one As a matter of fact it should have been used when the road was first built it will be almost an airline air line between crestline and beacham Ye acham and the grade is not above I 1 per pe r cent at any point it will in reality shorten the distance and then too it will provide a shipping terminal somewhat nearer to the great mining camp of pioche than formerly when trail railroad road communication is restored pioche will come into its own again and the resumption of activity there will take on the form and substance of a boom spelled with a big B 0 |
