Show MONTANA libby news clyde daniels will leave today with a wagon load of supplies for the good hope group of claims on horse creek and expects to spend the winter in doing some development work on that property properly this property is owned by mr daniels and others and is said to have a very promising show showing ing it adjoins the new dewey and is only about one mile north and on tho same ledge as the victor empire butte miner unless another cold wave makes this section of the west another visit w within the next few hours operations will he be resumed at all the mines of the boston montana company tomorrow word was received from great geat falls yesterday that with the moderate weather now prevailing the cars of ore are gradually thawing out and already they are being returned empty to butte the smelter at great falls is now operating to full capacity having nearly tons of ore ahead which wh ich was tied up en route by the zero weather all of the boston montana mines were closed down for about ten days A basin dispatch sayd saya while doin doing representation on the hattie ferguson mine on cataract a fine body of high 0 grade ore was struck after extending the crosscut cross cut tunnel a distance of thirty nine feet north it has been claimed by former management of this property that the best bes t ore would be found quite a distance from the regular hattie vein and it is now very evident that other bodies of good ore will be found a little farther north it is the intention in of the present owners of this group of claims to thoroughly develop them and by so doing a great producing mine will be opened and placed in the paying class butte copper age george S wells ot lewistown Lewis town mont was in butte this week att attending eDding to some business in connection with his mining interests mr wells together with other lewistown Lewis town parties is interested te in the copper state mine near white sulphur springs the copper state shaft is now down about feet and drifting is progressing along a twelve foot vein on the foot level cons considerable id erable z zinc in C is encountered in the ore which also carries four or five per cent copper about five feet of the vein is said to carry an average of forty five per cent zinc but owing to the lack of facilities for treating zinc ores at the smelters shelters sm elters in montana it has been impossible to handle the ore with any success s u c cess mr wells states that the great falls branch of the new st paul milwaukee road has been surveyed within four miles of his property when this branch line is completed it is believed that shipping facilities will be such that copper state ores can be handled successfully in the meantime development work will be carried on so that the mine will be on a good producing basis when ship shipping pin facilities are at hand |
