Show WILL MANAGE BINGHAM BUTTE sam treloar prominent butte operator Opera torto to take charge of bingham properties miner butte montana sam treloar leader of the famous boston montana band and a prominent mining man of butte has signed with the bing ham butte consolidated mining company and will leave for bingham utah soon to take charge of operations at the mines of the company located at that place W E hubbard president of the company and a resident of salt lake city has been in butte for several days making arrangements with mr treloar to take the general management of operations later mr tre floars family will join him and they will make their future home in utah the bingham butte consolidated mining company is incorporated for shares of the par value of 1 each A number of butte parties including henry ed wright R W sampson charles smith henry kipp and others are interested in the company and about shares are held in this city the company is owned principally by bingham and butte parties with a few shareholders at salt lake the company owns twelve claims in the promising bingham camp eleven of which have been patented the property has been a shipper since 1869 and has produced more than it has not been worked continuously and is said to be only partially developed the ore is rich in gold silver lead and copper and pays from the grassroots grass down most of the mining at bingham is done with steam shovels and the daily output of the camp is close to tons of ore mr treloar came to butte more than twenty years ago he started in with the old alice company at walkerville Wal kerville and when that mine closed in 1887 he was engaged by the boston montana company and stayed with his position until 1897 when he resigned and began leasing in the butte camp he was successful and a few years ago he donald gillis and malcolm mcdonald secured options from james A murphy and others and promoted the pittsburg montana company in 1904 he was made superintendent in of the lexington mine for the lefrance copper company and made the property produce more than half a million dollars under his management in 1906 he resigned and began to look after his own mining interests while attending to his own interests he accepted a position with the raven mining company as assistant to superintendent john berkin and a few months ago he resigned that position he organized the boston montana band in 1887 and has been leader of the or organization ani since it was formed |
